John Paul Jones

Posted on 09 January 2026 by Brian Walsh

Studio equipment previously owned by John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin is currently up for auction.

The equipment comes from Jones’ private studio and has no direct Led Zeppelin connection. It includes a wide range of gear, from Akai samplers, Roland drum machines, and Novation synthesizers to vintage delays, tape machines, and rack units.

The collection is being sold through a series of timed auctions via Soundgas. The first auction began on December 19 and is scheduled to close on January 18.

“John is still very active musically—writing, recording, and performing—but no longer requires so much studio equipment, most of which he has owned from new,” Soundgas writes on its website. “He feels it should be in the hands of people who will put it to good use, so it is offered here without formal provenance, with the intention that it continues to be used as intended.”
