She wrote and recorded the 12-track album mostly at her Martha&#8217;s Vineyard home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Simon, who co-wrote and co-produced the album with&nbsp;<strong>David Spencer<\/strong>, also released the record&#8217;s first single &#8220;Howl.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;&#8216;Howl&#8217; lives in that space between betrayal and forgiveness, where anger has to be voiced before it can be released,&#8221; Simon shared. &#8220;It&#8217;s about letting the frustration out so it doesn&#8217;t sit and simmer. The song begins in anger, but it moves toward forgiveness, and speaks to any situation where trust has been broken.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The upcoming album got its title from &#8220;Slowly,&#8221; a song centered on patience, return, and emotional renewal. Simon enlisted&nbsp;<strong>John Fort\u00e9<\/strong>, as well as her son&nbsp;<strong>Ben<\/strong>&nbsp;for the project. Her daughter&nbsp;<strong>Sally<\/strong>&nbsp;contributed vocals and created the cover artwork for the single.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\"><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Comes In Waves<\/em>&nbsp;is Simon&#8217;s first album of original material since 2008&#8217;s&nbsp;<em>This Kind of Love<\/em>.
