Beach Boys

Disney+ has announced that The Beach Boys, an all-new documentary about the American rock band will stream exclusively on the streaming service beginning May 24, 2024.

“‘The Beach Boys’ is a celebration of the legendary band that revolutionized pop music, and the iconic, harmonious sound they created that personified the California dream, captivating fans for generations and generations to come,” Disney+ said in a press released.

They added, “The documentary traces the band from humble family beginnings and features never-before-seen footage and all-new interviews with The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks, Bruce Johnston, plus other luminaries in the music business, including Lindsey Buckingham, Janelle Monae, Ryan Tedder, and Don Was.”

A Kennedy/Marshall and White Horse Pictures Production, The Beach Boys was directed by Frank Marshall and Thom Zimny and written by Mark Monroe.

Cyndi Lauper

Cyndi Lauper has announced a greatest hit show at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall.

Lauper will play at the legendary Royal Albert Hall on June 26, 2024, her first concert there since 1995. She will perform several classic hits from her catalog, including “Time After Time,” “True Colors,” and “Girls Just Want To Have Fun.”

Cyndi said, “I haven’t played at the Royal Albert Hall since 1995, when I was there for my 12 Deadly Cyns tour, I was dressed like a Queen surrounded by Queens singing Hey Now Girls Just Wanna Have Fun in all my glory!”

“I had a blast. And not only is the Royal Albert Hall one of the most important music venues but over 20 Suffragette rallies were held there! That makes it great for me,” she added.

Grateful Dead

To mark the 50th Anniversary of their 1974 album From The Mars Hotel, Grateful Dead will release a deluxe edition, remastered and expanded with newly unearthed material and rarities.

From The Mars Hotel (50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) will be released on June 21 via Rhino.

The deluxe edition features remastered audio by engineer David Glasser. Produced for release by Grateful Dead Legacy Manager and Audio Archivist David Lemieux, the deluxe edition also includes demos of “China Doll” and “Wave That Flag” as well as a previously unreleased live performance of the Grateful Dead at University of Nevada-Reno in 1974.

In addition to the 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, From The Mars Hotel (50th Anniversary Remaster) will be released on June 21 as a single 180-gram black vinyl LP, limited edition Neon Pink vinyl, limited edition “Ugly Rumors” custom vinyl exclusive to Dead.net, and a specially-designed picture disc created in partnership with zoetrope pioneer Drew Tetz.
