B.B. King

Posted on 20 January 2020 by Brian Walsh

A 2-night tribute show has been announced to honor the legend of the Blues, B.B. King.

The highly anticipated event will take place at New York’s Capitol Theatre in Port Chester on February 16 & 17. The lineup for the concerts features a host of A-list artists, including Bobby Rush, Steven Van Zandt, Susan Tedeschi, Anthony Hamilton, Bob Margolin, Bobby Rush, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Little Steven, Robert Cray, and William Bell, among others.

King passed away at the age of 89 in May of 2015 after suffering from a stroke in his sleep in his home in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“When B.B. King played, it was just the cold hard truth,” Trucks told Rolling Stone in 2015. “Like hearing Martin Luther King speak. You just needed one word, one note with B.B. No one has that.”

Dummer/Producer, Steven Jordan will be the music director for both evenings. Titled “The Thrill Is Gone: A Tribute to B.B. King,” tickets for the two-day event are available for purchase now. The daily lineups will be announced on Tuesday, January 28 and a limited number of single-night passes will go on sale on Friday, January 31 at noon EST.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Seva Foundation
