Bay City Rollers

Alan Longmuir, founding member and bassist for the Bay City Rollers died three weeks after being flown home to Scotland from a vacation in Mexico at the age of 70. He died in a Larbert hospital Monday (July 2). Alan left the group (which included his brother Derek on drums) in 1976, but played on such “Rollermania” hits as “Saturday Night (#1-1976). “Money Honey” (#9-1976) and “Rock And Roll Love Letter” (#28-1976). All-told the group, from Edinburgh, Scotland, charted 8 times in the U.S. and sold 120 million records worldwide.
